I have to admit I'm fresh out of ideas for getting more signatures on my petition. I'm stuck at 338 signatures... and I have been for the last week. I need ideas. Badly. If this is your first time to my blog go here, here, here, here and here to read what this is all about. To sum it up briefly, my son lived two minutes after he was born and the state of Tennessee won't recognize he was alive. He was listed as stillborn because he wasn't "alive enough".
January is approaching much faster than I anticipated. I can't believe it's already the pre-middle of October, and I am no where close to my initial goal of 1,000 signatures. I actually hoped (I still do) to have more than that by the time sessions start back.
So here's what I'm going to do...
I'm going to do my first giveaway! What I will be giving away is a surprise, but I guarantee (or at least I hope) you will love it! In order to enter this giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post with an idea on how to get more traffic to my petition. You can enter more than one idea, but make sure you leave them in individual comments... Each idea you leave will increase your chances of winning. The winner will be selected randomly. This contest will go until October 18th (we'll be back from vacation then) so you have plenty of time to come up with brilliant ideas!
I look forward to seeing the ideas you come up with!

Can you find a local church who will let you have a table before & after services?
Does the survey have to be online? Print it out and carry the survey, pens, and places to sign with you...hit the streets. Take a picture of Wyatt with you.
Well, I can certaining do my part....I am going to blog about it...and tweet about it....and post it on facebook....HOPE IT HELPS!!!!
My idea is this: I am going to do a post on my other blog "Just Breathe" and that should reach a few more people. I will post it tomorrow.
Maybe if all of us babyloss mums could post messages on our blogs and on our Facebook profiles on a specific day? Along the lines of the "please post this yourself as your status update" and ensure that it references your state to get the attention of those whose signatures you need most? I'm in Canada but I have family and friends south of the border...
Do you have any family that lives in another place than you that could go around and get signatures?
You can take the petition to local sporting events.
You can set up a table at the mall or some other store to get signatures.
Create a little committee of friends and family in your area that would commit to getting more signatures for you. Give them each a goal of signatures to reach.
Danelle, I do not have any bright ideas but I have emailed everyone I know and I have requested their help. This may add a few more. Good Luck
I just sent it to some friends on Facebook and posted it on my MySpace page and also going to put it on Cafe Mom site. Praying for you so much and I have the button on my blog. Prolly going to blog about it to. {{HUGS}}
Caroline :)
I posted a note on my facebook...what about taking an ad out in the local newspaper, church newsletter, at ansley's school or any where else that has a newsletter or newspaper?
What about creating a flyer and handing it out to neighbors or posting at your church?!
Just 2 ideas right now....let me know if you need anything!! Miss you and the god kids!!! Love ya
Melissa
What about doorknocking if it's allowed? Also, you could ask all of us babylost mamas (and whoever else would like to) to put a post about this cause weekly all on the same day of the week, so people and NEW followers would be constantly reminded of this cause. We could then ask in that post for the followers of our blogs to copy and paste the post into their blogs thus reaching a LOT more people?
SORRY I HAVE NO BRIGHT IDEAS,AT THIS POINT EVERYONE HAS TOLD YOU ALL THE ONES THAT I MIGHT THINK OF,BUT I DO HOPE AND PRAY THAT YOU GET ALL THAT YOU NEED...AMD MY DAUGHTER MONICA SAYS HI...
What about creating a facebook page just for this cause? People can become fans and suggest other friends to become fans and so on. People can link to the petition from the page and sign there.
Danielle. I want to help. I'm dedicating from yesterday until October 15th to pregnancy and infant loss awareness. I'd love to have you as a quest blogger you can tell your story and post your petition. We'll get all my followers to sign it. Let me know if you're interested in doing this. Kati
I know that someone already said to set up at church, but how about you talk to your pastor and see if he can get you on the agenda to speak at the association meeting for your denomination. The Baptist denomination has a meeting every month I think. As this is recognizing life, I would think that the association would be a good way to help get this recognized throughout many churches. I will also post a link on my blog and on facebook. You could also post the issue on KnoxMoms. I know that you targeted the Sevier Co. paper, but have you tried to send the same piece to the other papers in the area, or even the news station? Contact Love89 and see if they will make your issue known to the general knoxville area population. More than one idea, I know, but good ways to reach a lot of people.
Danielle, I posted about getting signatures. Someone commented that it is only open to Tennessee residents. Is that true? I had signed it about a month ago and I'm in California. Anyway, how about a Billboard. Take donations and get it up there for all to see.
Where I live we have a local tv channel dedicated to 24 hrs of local news and events. They also do things like advertisments and bday announcements. If you have one in your area you could run an add.
Or you could call your local news channel and have them run a story on the 15th to raise awareness since its national pregnacy & infancy loss this month. Good luck!
It occurs to me as well that you could probably get coverage for Wyatt's cause from any Catholic paper. For those of us Christians in the Roman Catholic tradition, life is sacred from conception to natural death and so right to life issues usually get good coverage. I think that many people would support you in trying to get your state to acknowledging Wyatt's live birth. I'm in Canada, so I'm not sure which are near you but I know there are national US Catholic papers. I can look into it more for you. Feel free to contact me on my email through my blog. I'm a journalist and have a press release template and so on. (((Hugs)))
I was thinking about a church also. Or what about walking around at a craft fair or other outdoor event and asking for people to sign your petition?
Also, what about asking your local pediatrician if you could place a copy of your petition in their office requesting signatures?
What about a local tv station or newspaper that might be willing to do a story on your cause?
Have it posted in the church bulletin? Maybe start a Facebook group? Everyone you know on Facebook could join and pass it on to others they know. Its a way to defintiely get more traffic...there are groups on Facebook for EVERYTHIHNG.
I wish I could help, I wish more people who are able to would sign the petition. It is SO important.
*hugs*
I know it may be a little work but you may want to set up a little table and make a cookie in Wyatt's honor, something with an Elephant. You could set up your and they only get the cookie if they sign the petition. Hey what's a little bribery, especially a tasty one.
I will be sending it out to all the angel mom's that are my "friends". But, I must know if you have to be from Tennessee because I too am from Chicago and signed the petition.

Contact newspapers and share your story.
Contact news stations and maybe do an interview, and ask for help with your petition.
Take your laptop to businesses.
Take your laptop to churches and ask for support.
