I need your opinion please!

I have been searching high and low for the perfect dress to wear to my husbands Marine Corps. Ball coming up on the 14th. I think I found it, but I'm having some reservations about it being strapless. My husband loves it, but I would like to get your points of view on the dress. My hair is about the same length/color as hers and I plan on doing my hair the way she has hers in the picture.

So now that you've seen the dress, here's my questions for you:

Do you think it will compliment Joseph in his dress blues, or will it pull away from him? This is HIS night, not mine.

The BIG ONE: Is it too revealing up top? I don't think my chest will "pop" like hers... I'm just not blessed in that department.

It does come with attachable spaghetti straps... should I add those to cover more skin? Or should I get a jacket or shaw to wear with it to cover even more skin?

I simply want to look nice for Joseph. We've been looking forward to this night by ourselves for a while now. I don't want to embarrass him or myself and ruin the night. So PLEASE, I need your honest opinions!

I'd really appreciate your input before I commit to buying this dress. Your opinions mean so much to me :)

First off, your going to look STUNNING in that dress.

1-I do not at all think this will pull away from him..he will be glowing with pride to have such a beauty on his arm!

2-If your not top heavy, I wouldn't worry about it. And I think like a black see through shaw would look great with this dress.

I can't wait to see how you look!

I think its beautiful! If you felt more comfortable with a shawl or jacket I am sure that would look beautiful as well. I don't think you need to feel like you are taking away from him or embarrassing him, you will look STUNNING! Can't wait to see pictures!

I think that it is beautiful! it's very classy and it will look nice with his blues. My husband is AF and I usually wear black to go with his blues. I would take a pretty shawl with maybe some interesting detail (sparkle, lace trim, etc). Have fun!

Love the dress, it is so pretty.
I would take a shawl just in case it get chilly! You will look beautiful and I am sure that Joseph wouldn't mind at all if his buddies eyes are on his beautiful wife!

I think the dress would look amazing on you!! I'm not a big fan of strapless b/c I hate pulling at it the whole time I'm wearing it. If you're afraid of that you could add the straps. I think it would look very nice with his dress blues and it wouldn't pull away. I think something really bright and flashy would pull away. This is more subdued and elegant. I say go for it!! You'll look beautiful!

I think it is beautiful just the way it is. Black will fine with his uniform and I really don't think it is too revealing. I would suggest trying it on once you get it and make the decision about the straps or a shawl then. I really do think it will look great on you! xx

I absolutely adore this dress! It is perfect! A little shoulder wrap would accent perfectly if you want to cover up a little - add some pearl or diamond stud earrings as well! I wouldn't add the straps....

Oh my goodness! I LOVE IT! I think that would look great on you! I also think wearing your hair that way would be beautiful. Have you thought of adding a headband with some kind of tiny bow, feather, or gems on it? You can find some at Target. I can't wait to see pictures of you in it!

You are gorgeous, the dres is sunning which makes a PERFECT match! A wrap/shawl might be nice to keep you a bit warmer, but you definitely don't need anything to cover up. I think a nice red one would compliment both your dress and hubbby's dress blues. Can't wait to see pics of you all dressed up!

PS...Happy Birthday to your little guy today!

*hugs*

So ..... I have never been to a Marine Corps ball so I don't know what you would wear but I love the dress! It may be a little cool outside though and if you are worried about it being too revealing I would buy a little jacket or shaw. But I don't think it is too revealing and I do love the dress. I know you will look awesome in it!

While I was looking at it, my hubby walked by, and said he loves it too!

WOW, what a stunning dress. I think it's fine the way the Model wears it. And if your husbands loves the dress, you won't embarrass either one of you.

(I know being European sometimes means having a different idea of style, so I'm curious to see what the other Ladies are going to say)

I think this dress would gorgeous on you! I think the color is just right (not too flash at all). If you don't "pop" (haha, I liked your choice of word) as much, I wouldn't worry about it. If the straps make you feel more comfortable, then you can try them on, but I'd say no, heehee. If you want, you can get a shrug - it covers up less than a jacket or shawl would - or a light shawl, so you don't hide too much of the dress.

I believe a beautiful woman by his side can only make him look better! Go for it, but keep the girls under more control than the model ;) Take a nice shawl or sweater, so you can put it on if you start to feel exposed.

Danielle, the dress is gorgeous! I LOVE the bow design on the side, so elegant. I think to compliment not only your husband but also the season, a shaw would be perfect. I don't know what the weather is like where you're at, but I think a shaw would be nice. Anyway, I think your choice is just elegant. I am excited for you and your hubby that you'll get this night together, sounds like fun. =)

It's a beautiful dress! :) I'm uncomfortable with strapless as well, so for myself I'd order the spaghetti straps and probably wear a jacket although the jacket is totally unnecessary. You'll complement him perfectly in it. :)

It's a beautiful dress. And you can always wear a push-up or padded bra to "fill it out" if need be. In my opinion, black goes with just about everything, and I think it'll look very elegant with your husband's dress blues.

My interesting fact is that I live in Honolulu, Hawaii, just graduated from college with a Psychology degree and have plans to apply to medical school in three years.

I am pretty certain that his loving wife in that dress on that night will not be embarrassing or able to ruin anything! That said, my opinion, which is what you asked for but remember it means nothing is...
Definitely no jacket. You don't buy a dress like that to cover it up.
I think the spaghetti straps would completely eliminate the even slightest possibility of a ummmm, pop out, so I would wear them (I am not blessed in that dept either but that accident can still happen).
As for the shawl. I own 3 and adding one to a dress like that is a wonderful idea...choosing a fancy one and matching your bag to it will make your dress even more amazing. And I can almost guarantee he will not be able to take his eyes off of you. Men like the feminine quality a shawl adds.
Please post pictures when you decide!!

the dress is nice... wear a shaw just incase you start to feel uncomfortable. And lets hope you don't pop out of the top like that, cos she's doing alittle too much popping in the picture. And any hot woman in a dress is gonna pull eyes away from the man, but I'm sure they will pay attention to him too, and say what a beautiful wife... :)

So, he is wearing dark blue... and is that dress black?

I think the dress is beautiful! My only reservation was that it showed too much chest, but if you think that won't be a problem, I think it is just fine like that!

You are so very beautiful, and I know this is HIS night, but it is YOUR night too. You DESERVE a special night out with your LOVE to feel pampered and beautiful.

You will compliment him because you will be by his side. Glow with pride for his accomplishments, remind him of all the reasons why you first fell in love, smile often and big, all night long. Make him feel like he is the only one in the room. YOU will be such a gift to him :-)

Have so much fun!

Hugs,
Traci

I think the dress is beautiful, and you'll look even more gorgeous in it.
About the strap/ shawl thing, if you feel more comfy with the straps/shawl, then go for it, but you should look fine without it.

Agreeing with everyone this, it will look beautiful on you! You don't need to add anything, but a glittery shawl would look really nice, if you like shawls (though I do say to put the straps on the dress, just for some class). Other than that, great choice; can't wait to see some amazing pictures!
