Venting

Remember my post about the wonderful gift my sweet husband got me for my Anni-birth-mas Present? Well, I've been waiting very impatiently to get the rest of Wyatt's cremains back that weren't used, as well as the ring itself! It stated on their website I would have the completed product within 6-8 weeks, and Joseph even paid for it to be expedited... so I was banking on getting it back closer to the six week mark. Well, it's already been over 9 weeks and I am a bit (okay, VERY) perturbed. I am very disappointed in this company.

Maybe my expectations are too high, but in a business like this, you would expect some communication. At least, that's what I expect. I sent them my sons cremains through the mail (you'll remember how freaked out I was about that) and they didn't even have the decency to notify me that his cremains were received safely. I ended up making a phone call and having to verify that they did receive him. Do you remember that I even included pictures of Wyatt and a letter to the person handling his cremains so they would know how special this was to me... how special Wyatt is to me?

And then, about 7 weeks after I sent Wyatt's cremains to them, I contacted them again to find out if the package had been shipped back to me or when I could expect it. They had no idea and had to call me back when they had a chance to talk to the jeweler. When I was called back they notified me that the stone had been made, but that the jeweler still had to set it and it would be about another three weeks before I received it. Are you kidding me! I hung up very unhappy and the lady I was talking to knew it.

Well, we are coming up on the 10 week mark and I had yet to hear from them once again...

Finally, I decided to send an email letting them know how upset and disappointed I was in their service. I demanded to know why there was still a delay in receiving my order and Wyatt's cremains only to be informed that the jeweler had set it, but then noticed a scratch on the setting so he was resetting the ring. UGH!

As we stand right now, it should be shipped out next week. I asked to be notified when it shipped, but I'm not holding my breath. I wouldn't recommend using this company to anyone after the experience I've had with them. I hope their craftsmanship far outshines my experience thus far. I would hate to wait this long and be unhappy with the quality of their work. After all, they've had PLEANY of time to make sure their work is outstanding!

What a disappointment! I am so sorry you've had to jump through hoops to get this company to communicate with you.

So sorry about this! I would be flustered too! I really hope that as long as they've taken, that the ring will just be worth all the wait. Can't wait to see pictures of it when you finally do get it.

Danielle, have you considered submitting your story to The Consumerist? They have a pretty high success rate at getting things moving, since most companies watch for the bad PR, and it would be a good way to warn others what to expect.

But we're praying it comes in the mail soon! We wouldn't want to unleash some preggo hormones on their heinies!

I was venting about my rug last week. I can't imagine waiting for Wyatt's cremains to come back to you. You would think that they would be more understanding and get them back quickly.

I think that they should refund some of the money for taking longer than they say it will. When they give their word on something they should stand by it and if something happens that it will be longer they should have the decency to keep in touch and provide a discount. I'm sorry you've had to wait so long! I hope that you like the ring when it comes.

Wow, I would be beyond upset. Though I am facing something very similar with regards to NILMDTS with L's pictures. They got his phots in September and i'm still waiting on the retouching and slide show of them. I can understand your pain and frustration, to an extent. I would be more worried and upset since you had to send them Wyatt's ashes. I hope they are re-embursting you some $$ for the expedited service, you did not receive. I hope the final result is more then you could have hoped for. xo

Oh Danielle I hope you get it soon. Once you do receive it, you should report them to the better business borough. I'm so sorry you have to go this.

How aggrevating. I do hope that the product is worth the aggrevation and the waiting.
